We’re thrilled to announce we won three 2014 Communicator Awards for the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities website redesign launched in 2013. Announced in April, the collaborative team won:

  • Gold Award of Excellence: Structure and Navigation
  • Silver Award of Distinction: Websites, Healthcare
  • Silver Award of Distinction: Websites, Nonprofits

Other companies honored include Coca-Cola, Human Rights Campaign, Under Armour, and National Geographic.

The YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities, a leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, focused attention on its website redesign by re-architecting a comprehensive and deep site navigation, making the site mobile friendly, and updating the look and feel to reflect the organization’s inclusive and healthful brand. This extensively collaborative project between Clockwork and the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities was completed in just five months. Since the 2,300-page website launched, the team has continued working together to create a robust digital strategy for 2014.

“The YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities project brought out the best in both our teams,” said Nancy Lyons, CEO of Clockwork. “Clockwork was able to bring our strategic content and usability expertise to their complex site, while YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities brought extensive business and market knowledge. Together we created a site that puts users first. The metrics confirm we succeeded, and the feedback confirms people love it.”

“As a non-profit focused on serving our community, we’re honored to be recognized by The Communicator Awards especially alongside premiere for-profit brands,” said Nathan Maehren, Senior Vice President of Technology and Experience of the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities. “Clockwork’s strategic design and development experience, matched with their strong team and collaborative spirit allowed us to deliver a website experience that is engaging and valuable for our customers.”
