Traditionally, there hasn’t been room for social activism in the workplace. But in the last year, it’s become obvious that the consequences of ignoring what’s going on around us are severe.
As a business — in this community, in this city, in this world — we can’t pretend bad things aren’t happening. There isn’t time to worry about political correctness. This isn’t the time to suggest that our colleagues and friends leave their confusion or feelings at home when they come into the office. There isn’t time to worry about whether it’s “okay” to talk about difficult things with our coworkers, clients, and partners.
We challenge other businesses — everywhere — to demonstrate support for the Black Lives Matter movement, to have open and tough conversations about what’s going on in the world, and to help each other out. Now’s the time to value humanity over everything else. We have a responsibility to make our communities stronger, better, and more kind. There’s no time to wait. Join us?
