On June 12th, the Minneapolis Star Tribune announced their annual Top Workplaces awards for 2015. Clockwork has been lucky to be on this esteemed list for four years in a row, every year that we’ve been large enough to qualify. This year, though, came with an extra dose of good news: In addition to being on the Top Workplaces list, we were awarded the #1 small company and recognized for our high marks in ethics.
Our collective satisfaction is based on many factors — from well-being to benefits — but one of the most universally celebrated aspects of what we offer is our commitment to work/life balance. Or, rather, our life balance. As our CEO Nancy Lyons says, “We don’t talk about work-life balance. It’s all about life. We’re human, and to expect that to be compartmentalized is ridiculous…What we do is trust people to do what they need to do, so when we need their energy we’ll get their best.” In the survey itself, employees commented, “I get to push myself to perform better for our clients” and “I’m empowered to do my job the best way I see fit.” Another said: “I feel like I’m part of a values-driven organization.”
Clockwork was also recognized with a People’s Choice award for ethics. The Star Tribune article states, “One of the qualities that has made Clockwork Active Media stand out among its competition — as well as with its own employees — is its scrupulous ethical code.” Being acclaimed for ethics is meaningful. This is a value that everyone here takes very seriously and it’s the basis for our people-centered relationships — both with each other and with clients.
We’re proud to say and show that we keep our promises and tell the truth. And we’re especially proud that the people we work with see it in us, too.
