We love our bikes at Clockwork. So much so that the League of American Bicyclists recognized Clockwork as a 2011 Bicycle Friendly Business winner. And, for the third year in a row, we’re sending a team to ride the MS150 (you can sponsor us here – and get a free “Save the Cyclotaurs” t-shirt with a $50 donation).
We have all types of riders at Clockwork, and all types of bikes: from performance and cyclocross, to touring and commuters, and everything from brand spankin new to vintage. With the weather (finally) warming up in Minnesota, the number of bikes in our parking lot is growing. We thought it’d be fun to introduce you to a few of our favorite riders. First up is Telari and her Surly Long Haul Trucker.
Tell us about your bike.
I ride a Surly Long-haul Trucker that I purchased at Freewheel in Minneapolis two years ago. The bike is stock, but I’ve enhanced it with a Brook’s seat, fenders, a rear rack, and a little brass bell so you can hear me coming and get the heck outa my way.
Tell us about your commute.
I live about 5 miles away in Longfellow – South Minneapolis and am lucky enough to ride West and East River Road almost the whole way in. When I reach the U of M, I cut up through Oak and over to 15th and glide into Clockwork. It’s a beautiful ride.
Why do you ride?
I love biking. Next to yoga it’s my favorite form of exercise. I bike to work because it helps me to manage the stress of the day and allows me to get exercise in during the daylight hours. I have to admit though, that I’m a fair weather bike commuter. This week is my first week back.
